El puente colgante más largo del mundo fue inaugurado el domingo en el municipio de Randa, Suiza, y promete convertirse en una atracción turística para los amantes del trekking y los alpes suizos.

Con un largo de 494 metros a una altura máxima de 85, el Europabrücke (Puente de Europa) conecta las aldeas de montaña de Zermatt y Grächen, al sur del país, y es el más extenso de su tipo en todo el mundo, según reportó el periódico digital Euro News.

Por debajo de la pasarela de apenas 60 centímetros de ancho está la cañada de Grabengufer, al pie de una de las montañas más altas del país; el Dom, 4.545 metros sobre el nivel del mar.





El puente reemplaza a otro de menor envergadura que formaba parte del sendero de montaña Europaweg y que fue dañado por la caída de piedras.
